At the invitation of the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS), within the programme “IZIIS for SKOPJE”, Dr. Laurentiu Danciu from ETHZ (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology – Zurich)  gave an invited lecture.

As one of the leading European experts in the field of seismic hazard and risk and second author of the new European model of seismic hazard, Dr. Danciu talked about the latest developments and the European efforts toward harmonization of  the seismic hazard and risk, their importance and the regional implementation of the latest European models. Dr. Danciu also made an introduction about the possibilities of the new and topical tool Open Quake in the seismic hazard and risk analyses.

During his visit to the Institute, there were also talks about the possibilities for future cooperation within the frames of EFEHR (European Earthquake Hazard and Risk Capacities), but bilaterally with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology -Zurich, in the domain of education and applied science.
