M-r. Toni Kitanovski is an assistant at the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS) since 2019 and has been working at it since 2013. He completed his master studies in 2018 in the department of Geotechnics and Special Structures under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Vlatko Sheshov. A part of his master studies he spends one semester at the University of Naples, Federico Secondo, studying structural engineering. Additionally, in 2018 he participates in the summer school in Weimar, Germany, in the direction of “forecast engineering” in the field of geotechnical engineering, in 2020 at the “International training course on Seismology and Seismic Hazard Assessment” within the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences, and in 2021 at “Eurocodes Balkan Summer School” under the auspices of the “European Commission – Joint research centre”. Mainly work in the field of experimental research on soil liquidation and determination of soil dynamic characteristics, as well as numerical modelling of geotechnical problems, determination of local soil conditions by evaluation of seismic dynamic parameters for the location. He is involved in several application projects, consulting services in the field of design, diagnostics, rehabilitation and strengthening of seismically resistant geotechnical facilities. He is currently the president of the young members of the Macedonian Association of Geotechnics.
