Julijana Bojadjieva is Associate professor at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” – Skopje, Macedonia at the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS), since 2020, where she has been employed since 2009. She completed her Master’s (2009) and Doctoral degree (2015) at the same Institute in the Department of Geotechnics and Special Facilities and obtained Specialization Degree for management of geological risks (CERG) at the University of Geneva, Switzerland (2008). In the period of 2019-2020 she has been involved in research and teaching as a Visiting Fulbright Scholar at the California State University Long Beach in California. Her expertise is in soil dynamics and earthquake geotechnical engineering and mainly is oriented in advanced experimental testing of soils, shaking table testing of geo-models in laminar container, microzonation of seismic geotechnical hazards, liquefaction potential assessment (SPT and CPT method), slope movement and landslide risk mitigation, GIS (geographical information system) application, performance-based design and constitutive modelling of soil. During the period between 2008 – 2018 she accomplished several international research stays at University Laval, Quebec, Canada (2010-2011), Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany (2008) and LNEC in Lisbon, Portugal (2012). Julijana Bojadjieva has significant number of publications in journals and international conferences and has participated in several International research projects (NSF, H2020, COST, FP7). She is currently representing IZIIS in the Governmental Commission for damage assessment from natural hazards. In 2021, she is representing the Society for Geotechnics of Macedonia in the International Consortium of Landslides (ICL).
