MSc Angela Poposka is a PhD student and research assistant at the Institute of earthquake engineering and engineering seismology, University ss Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. Currently she is part of the department for Dynamic testing and Informatics and she is working on experimental testing of dynamic and quasi-static responses of structures, in the laboratory and in the field. She graduated as structural engineer in 2014 on the Civil Engineering Faculty in Skopje and then continued her master studies at the Institute of earthquake engineering and engineering seismology. Within the master studies she successfully realized an international stay of one semester at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, at the department for “Structures for Engineering and Architecture”. In 2018 she received her master’s degree in the field of earthquake engineering defending her thesis titled ”Analysis of the effect of earthquake and wind as dynamic loads on the structures”. The same year she enrolled a PhD study and started to work in the field of self-centering concentrically braced steel structures with and without dampers. Within the doctoral studies she was a visiting researcher at Imperial College London for 4 months, supported by the British Scholarship Trust. Since 2015, she has actively taken part in applicative projects such as determination of dynamic characteristics and seismic response of structures, seismic qualifications of non-constructive elements and electrical equipment, non-destructive testing and more. From 2019 she is also part of several scientific-research noteworthy among which are H2020 SERA project (2017-2020, grant no. 730900) and PARFORCE-KA226 – Partnerships for Digital Education Readiness and ERASMUS+ 2021-2023. During her scientific and professional career, she has taken part in many international conferences and realized several training programs among which are a summer school “Forecast Engineering“– Evaluation of Existing R.C. Frame Structures with URM Infill Walls, Weimar, Germany 2017, Eurocodes Balkan Summer School 2021 – organized by Joint Research Centre (JRC) European Commission etc. As an author or co-author, Angela has published more than 20 scientific papers at national and international conferences, as well as more than 20 professional reports. She is a beneficiary of several scholarships among which scholarship for tuition for graduate and postgraduate studies, scholarship for talented students as well as ones for exchange and visiting researchers. She was awarded with the Voya Kondic Prize for best research undertaken in 2019 during a study visit in the United Kingdom supported by the British Scholarship Trust. Angela is also member of Macedonian Association of Earthquake Engineering MAEE and Chamber of certified architects and certified engineers of Republic of N. Macedonia.
